Ceramic Handbuilding

This body of work explores the beauty of our human growth and decay, reflecting on the alluring grace of what it means to age. Through different mediums, I will capture the essence of growth and decay through imagery, representation, and process. Our process of aging as humans are unavoidable. We have been forced to believe it is a scary, disgusting, and unlovable process. To me, aging is the opposite: it is beautiful, raw, and personal. It is an intimate, unique experience that we share universally. I am exploring this concept as a way to cope with the change in vanity within myself and those I love, as a way for others to view their growth, as a tender journey of eventually going back to seed.
